A frequency converter is a device that converts AC power into adjustable speed DC power, and then converts DC power into adjustable frequency AC power. The main components of the frequency converter include rectifier, intermediate circuit, inverter and control circuit.
Small frequency converters are widely used in industry and homes to control the speed and torque of motors. The following are the basic steps and parameter adjustment methods for using small frequency converters:
1. Install the frequency converter
First, we need to select the appropriate frequency converter model based on factors such as load type, power demand, voltage level, etc.
Then choose a well-ventilated installation location to avoid moisture, dust and high temperature environment for installation. Connect the input power line to the power input terminal (L, N or L1, L2, L3) of the frequency converter. And the motor line is connected to the output terminal (U, V, W) of the frequency converter. The ground wire is connected to the ground terminal of the frequency converter.
2. Start the frequency converter
Check the frequency converter before the first start to ensure that there is no short circuit or poor contact. After power on, the frequency converter display should light up and enter the standby state.
Follow the steps in the manual and press the start key or the corresponding key combination to start the inverter.
3. Parameter adjustment
- Set basic parameters
Motor parameters: Set the rated voltage, rated current, rated power, rated frequency, etc. of the motor. For example: P1-01 = rated voltage of the motor, P1-02 = rated current of the motor. - Operation mode: Select the appropriate operation mode, such as constant speed, constant voltage or constant current mode. For example: P2-01 = Operation mode selection.
- Set frequency
Maximum frequency: Set the maximum operating frequency of the motor. For example: P1-03 = 50Hz (or 60Hz).
Minimum frequency: Set the minimum operating frequency of the motor. For example: P1-04 = 0Hz. - Acceleration time: Set the time required from 0 to maximum frequency. For example: P1-05 = 10 seconds.
Deceleration time: Set the time required from maximum frequency to 0. For example: P1-06 = 10 seconds. - Set control parameters
Start mode: Select forward, reverse or automatic switching mode. For example: P3-01 = forward, P3-02 = reverse. - Control mode: Select voltage control (V/F), vector control (Vector Control), etc. For example: P4-01 = V/F control.
- PID control parameters: If precise control is required, you can set the PID parameters.
For example: P5-01 = PID proportional coefficient, P5-02 = PID integral time, P5-03 = PID differential time.
4. Operation and monitoring
Operation
Set frequency: Set the target frequency through the inverter panel, external controller or communication interface.
Start the motor: Press the start button, and the motor starts to run at the set frequency.
Adjust frequency: Adjust the operating frequency as needed and observe the motor response.
Monitoring
Monitor the operating status of the motor, such as current, voltage, frequency, speed, etc.
Check the alarm information of the inverter and deal with abnormal situations in time.
5. Regular maintenance
Clean the inverter and heat sink regularly to ensure good heat dissipation.
Check the electrical connection to ensure that there is no looseness and poor contact.
Regularly check and test the parameter settings and operating status of the inverter.
6. Safety precautions
All operations should be performed under power-off to ensure personnel safety.
Make sure that the rated parameters of the inverter and motor match to avoid overload operation.
Follow the instruction manual and electrical specifications of the inverter to ensure correct operation and maintenance.
Through the above steps, we can correctly use and adjust the small inverter to ensure the normal operation and safe use of the equipment.
